Valentin's Pachamama Journeys is a Peruvian based tour company that offers personalized, unique tours of Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. Our tours are designed to go places that other tour groups don't go, giving you opportunities to interact with locals and see how life is lived by the people of Cusco and the Sacred Valley.

"Pachamama" means mother earth.

The goal of Our company is to showcase the culture and beauty of the Sacred Valley of Peru while honoring mother earth.

We focus on creating interesting and unique tours with experiences that connect you to the local people and landscape. Many of these tours involve visits to community markets, cooking lessons from local people, or lunches and tours of Sacred Valley farms. We are proud to offer healthy and organic Peruvian meals, made by local chefs with menus using food that is fresh from the fields or local markets. Also, if you are interested in homestays, we can organize overnight visits with families in local villages such as Chinchero or Maras, or high up in the mountains above the Sacred Valley during a trek to Huchuy Qosco.

One of the unique aspects of our company is that your guides may perform spiritual ceremonies that honor Pachamama during many of the tours, channeling the energy of mother nature in the spectacular scenery of the Inca lands.

In order to have the best experience and understanding of Peruvian history and culture, we strongly recommend that you spend between 4 to 7 days learning and enjoying with us. We offer itineraries from 2 to 7 days and any of the shorter tours can be combined based on your interests. One of our specialties are longer tours for large yoga groups and we can personally work with your group to customize your itinerary.

Valentin's Pachamama Journeys is strongly committed to supporting local people and economies.

We partner with humanitarian organizations to supply shoes, hats, medicine, and other needs to local children and their families. Ask us about how we can incorporate visits to some of our sponsored schools within your tour.

Whether it be a tour of Machu Picchu, a trekking adventure, or a cultural experience, these itineraries are a great starting point for planning your journey.

Markets &
Local Farm Visit

No trip to Cusco and the Sacred Valley is complete without a visit to Machu Picchu and we will make sure that your journey is unique, memorable and perfect. This 2 day tour can be combined with any of our other trips and is different from what you will find with any other company because our first day will involve a visit to a local market and a picnic lunch with Valentin's family on their working farm in the Sacred Valley.

Inca Ruins, Local Market, Ceramics, Farm Tour & Chicha

This tour takes you to places that are off of the normal tourist route. Our goal is to show you how locals live and work their land. Highlights of the day include a visit to a bustling local market in Urubamba where we will taste some of the many fruits and vegetables in the Sacred Valley and learn about the ingredients needed to make chicha, a corn beer that has been an important part of Peruvian culture since Inca times.

Machu Picchu
& Inca Trail

The Inca trail is one of the most amazing treks in the world! We offer a 4 or 5 day trek. The 5 day trail is ideal for families or those who are concerned about
their physical fitness for completing the trail in 4 days as it proceeds at a
much more relaxed pace than the classic 4 day Inca trail.

Moray, Local School Visit, Pachamanca Lunch & Chinchero

This tour takes you to visit two incredible sites in the Sacred Valley and to the weaving cooperative at Chinchero; the salt mines of Maras and the Incan agricultural laboratory of Moray. We will also have the chance to visit a local school that is the site of one of our social projects.

Pisco, Planetarium
& Pollo

This tour will take you out on the town of Cusco at night. You will learn about how the Incas viewed the constellations, followed by stargazing. We will return to Cusco and go out to a restaurant frequented by locals for the most popular dish of Peru: pollo a la brasa.

This amazing trip is designed for yoga groups of 10-12 people. It is organized at a slower place with the intention of giving your group time to have twice daily yoga sessions.

Valentin's Pachamama Journeys...

  • Valentin Baños is THE tour guide when you're in Cusco. Not only did I learn so much from him about this great city, but he gave me and my wife exactly what we wanted in terms of exposure to authentic Cusco lifestyle. Not to mention the man's life story is truly remarkable! I obviously cannot say enough great things about him so you all will just have to meet him yourself! Awesome, Great, Terrific, Memorable, simply Valentin Baños. #noregrets

  • Would recommend this tour to anyone who had time to spare whilst visiting Cusco. It added a new dimension to our Cusco visit, having already seen numerous Inca sites and churches in Cusco. The market was well worth going to with a knowledgeable guide, who could tell us about the various fruits, vegetables, meats and Easter treats. The Planetarium was amazing, we were so lucky to see numerous stars and constellations through telescopes. The talk in the Planetarium highlighted how stars in the sky were very important to the religion of the Inca. Valentin was knowledgeable, easy to get on with, had excellent English and made the evening an undoubted success. Thank you.

  • I purchased the Private Ollantaytambo and Pisac Ruins Tour Including Farm Visit and Picnic Lunch tour through Chase Bank / Viator. Valentin was a true professional and passionate about Incan history and all things Peru. Valentin was willing to make changes to the itinerary in order to accommodate my specific requests. Valentin went out of his way to show me the "real Peru" - or Peru beyond the typical tourist areas. I would highly recommend Valentin and his services.
