We will ascend through a beautiful path that is surrounded by tall mountain peaks. In the distance we can see Ausangate and around us, we will see mountain lakes and grazing llamas and alpacas. During this hike, we will reach 4 mountain passes, the highest of which is at 4000 meters. We will stop for lunch after about 4 hours of hiking, and after lunch, we will hike for about 4 hours more for a total distance of 16 km or 10 miles.

We will arrive at the house of a local family in Huchuy Qosqo where we will share dinner and time before going to bed for the night in their house. You will be able to experience the life of local farmers living in remote areas high above the Sacred Valley, in the same way that their ancestors were living during Inca times.

After breakfast with the family, we will have an in depth tour of the archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo which was a very important place and was considered "Small Cusco". We will see the Inca king’s palace, the temple of the water, and ceremonial altars. Then we will descend to Lamay where we will have lunch and will be picked up by private bus to be transported to Urubamba where we will tour the local, non-touristic market. You can have the chance to taste fruits and veggies unique to Peru and see the locals selling fruits and vegetables. Then we will continue driving to Ollantaytambo, a town with original Inca walls and cobblestone streets. We will have time to walk and visit the house of a local family located in a former Inca mansion.
